Two important pieces of art by the famous Greek sculptor Vasso Katraki during the time when the hotel was a Xenia.

One is in the reception area and is made of stone and represents a family on their way back from fishing.
The second piece by the sculptor is an oil painting that decorates a wall of the hotel in the reception area.

Historical background
1950
The early 1950s saw the beginning of a major effort by the NTO in the field of tourism development and building infrastructure. In the period 1950-1958, Charalambos Sfaellos, as Director of Technical Services of the newly established Hellenic Tourism Organisation, began to implement the design and construction programme of the hostels.
1950
1957
From 1957 to 1967, Aris Konstantinidis heads the Design Service, transforming it into a laboratory of architectural thinking, with important architects as worthy collaborators. It is important to point out that the overall approach was based on a solid and substantial theoretical background presented through the texts of Aris Konstantinidis, where the approach to the selection of the appropriate space and orientation, the importance of integration in the landscape is analysed, the relationship between interior and exterior space, the simplicity and clarity of form, the sincerity in the use of materials, the standardization in construction and the desire for the integration of these units into the life of each place, elements that make the whole project unique.
1957
1967
Through these buildings, the modern architectural vision is formed to a significant extent, as P. Michelis assessed in 1962, noting that "...the building projects of the E.O.T. promote the evolution of Architecture in Greece." It is a fact that these buildings are of immense importance for Greek architecture, as they constitute the most important production of public buildings in the post-war period, achieving through their integration into the peculiar and primitive Greek landscape, the interpretation of a modern pure and sincere architectural expression, which consistently interpreted the principles of the modern movement, through a code of cultural localism.
1967
1972
In 1972 it was purchased by the Papachristou brothers who contributed to its rescue and continued operation. It was renamed Hotel Theoxenia.
1972
1981
In 1981 it was expanded to 107 rooms in total. Continuous renovations have taken place since that period.
